Green Rose Project

I was quite excited about this home; this client was the sweetest lady you’d ever meet! She was building a custom home through Ripplinger Homes. I absolutely love getting to be a part of such wonderful, fun projects! I had the opportunity to play a very small part, but I feel so lucky that I even got to do that much 🙂 This new custom build was going to be her dream loft home. I adore loft homes – I love how the design provides privacy and allows an open concept for hosting. I think one day I would want to build a loft home – it’s so versatile.

Everyone involved: trades-men, installers, designers and contractors put an immeasurable amount of time and energy into this stunning home. The client wanted a very warm and welcoming feel and together we chose some classic materials and finishes to give the space a timeless atmosphere. I wanted to share a couple photos with you guys of the finished house after I got to go on site and see all of the incredible work the trades have done over the past while. All those who were involved in the Green Rose Project did an incredible job! Well done everyone!

We are all Josephs

We all know the story of Joseph and his famous coat of many colours. It’s a classic in any Children’s Story Bible. If you don’t know the story of Joseph, it’s found in the first Old Testament book of Bible: Genesis, chapter 35 (birth) to chapter 50 (death). To give you a Spark Notes version: (spoiler alert) At a young age, Joseph is treated unfairly by his brothers and wrongly sold into slavery. As Joseph works as a slave in Egypt, he excels due to his trust in God. We are told in Genesis 39: 2, “The Lord was with Joseph, so he became a successful man.” As Joseph moves up the status ladder, once again he is wrongly accused (verses 19-21), “Now when his [Joseph’s] master heard the words of his wife… ‘This is what your slave did to me,’ his anger burned. So Joseph’s master took him and put him in jail…” Joseph stayed in prison for 2 years for something he didn’t do.

Genesis 39: 2, “The Lord was with Joseph, so he became a successful man.

Bucket List: Ice Fishing

I wish I had more opportunities to go fishing, hunting and camping. I love those things, but I rarely get to do them! It has always been on my bucket list to go fishing and to eat our catch that same day – the freshest fish ever possible. Although I did catch fish while ice fishing – we didn’t exactly eat “my catch” because I caught Tullibee instead of some Wall-Eye… but that’s a minor detail 🙂  A couple people from my church offered to lead an ice fishing day trip to a lake roughly an hour out of the city for who ever wanted to come. Without giving it a second thought I counted myself apart of the fishing party! My Dad and my little brother also went on the day trip. One of my New Years Resolutions this year was to check one thing off of my Bucket List every month – This was the perfect opportunity because not only were my odds good but the more people that fished, the more fish there would be to eat later! Bucket List: Sky Diving

I love the feeling of falling. When your gut jumps up into your throat and you have that brief sensation of being weightless… Gahhhh I live for that feeling! The fact that sky diving was on my bucket list isn’t a huge surprise to anyone that knows me. A couple summers ago I was going to Steinbach, Manitoba for a cousins wedding – their wedding was on a Sunday and we drove up on Friday which gave us a day to kill. I was digging around finding things to do on the Saturday and I came across Adventure Skydiving. After perusing their site I learned that they had the highest tandem jumps  available in the prairies; up to 11,000 feet which would give jumpers roughly a minute of free fall. I was instantly captivated.

I contacted one of my other cousins who was traveling to the wedding on the same day. I was so excited and thought it’d be great if we were able to jump together! The tandem skydive enables the skydiver to experience the full magnitude of a skydive, including free fall in terminal velocity of up to 230 kpm of vertical speed, and a canopy glide to the ground – The tandem skydive also didn’t require any prior knowledge or training for jumping because we’d be strapped to someone who was certified. My cousin was instantly on board and we booked our jumps for that Saturday morning.

Sharelle + Dallas

Sharelle and Dallas had an absolutely enchanting day! I was so lucky to have the opportunity of designing the stunning Gold couple’s wedding flowers for their Fall wedding on October 21st, 2017. Sharelle is such a sweet soul and I adored getting to know her more while we collaborated on her wedding flowers. I’ve been blessed with doing wedding flowers for several brides now – but Sharelle wins the prize of most relaxed bride ever! Together, we talked about her wedding flowers over the phone for a just over an hour and she let me run with her inspiration! Enchanting was to be the wedding theme; a romantic blend of modern burgundies and elegant blushes with mixed greens and a touch of sparkle to hint at a wonderful fairy Godmother. I was so thankful for both Dallas and Sharelle’s laid back and relaxed wedding style! Thank you for trusting me lady – Thank you for giving my floral design juices to flow freely! I believe you brought your graceful wedding vision to life on your special day! Continue reading

My Never Ending Bucket List

My Bucket List is like a bottomless cup of coffee. I’m always checking things off my list and I’m always adding things to my list. I don’t have any specific requirements that decide whether or not something makes the cut. I have a lot of things on my Bucket List that I’ll only complete by total chance! Like witnessing a wedding proposal in public, watching a flash mob or winning a trophy!

Be Teachable.

I’ve always found the month of January to be the month of evaluation. That might be considered “late” to some people, because I think most people make December their month of evaluation considering that it’s right before the new year actually begins… but I like Christmas too much to do that 🙂 One of my New Years Resolutions this year was to be consistent and read my Bible and devotional book everyday. It’s always been my goal to do so, but this year I’m wanting to read them intentionally; praying before hand that the Lord would open my heart and eyes to help me dive deeper into my faith during my time with Him.
