Yes, attempt number 2. For those of you who missed it; a couple months ago I made an effort to complete this task on my Bucket List and failed. I would suggest reading that adventure because it was hilarious – You can click here to jump to that post. This second time around was in fact, successful and I got my little “First Time Donors” pin to prove it! Continue reading
I love my job at Floors by Design. I get to work with so many talented people from interior designers, installers, representatives of beautiful materials, the list could go on forever. I also get to meet countless creative clients and together we come up with some pretty fun projects! This was one of those projects. I got to work with this client for over a year and her house is finally coming together and taking shape! I’m sharing some photos of the finished ensuite and steam shower that we got to do!
I’m sure we’ve all heard the saying, “Work smarter not harder” but I was thinking the other day that we should apply that saying to our entire life. Today with so much focus on mental health and being open about our struggles I feel like this isn’t that hard of a concept to grasp either. Continue reading
I’ll be honest – I’m shocked that I was able to check this one off the List! I have a lot of tasks on my Bucket List that I don’t think I’ll be able to do and this was one of them 🙂 A couple of weeks ago, my boss decided he wanted our store to be featured on the local news channel to show off our store’s showroom, products and materials, and projects we’re capable of. He asked a co-worker and myself to be interviewed for our episode! We were both excited but also really nervous!
This past spring, I had the honour of doing the flowers for one of my cousins weddings; Danae, the lovely bride, was such a joy to work with. The vision she had for her and Dallas’ big day was very exciting, and I am so blessed to have been able to play a part in their beautiful day!
Relationships aren’t easy. They need time, effort and sacrifice whether it’s a relationship with people, pets or God. They’re always worth it, but you have to put in in order to take away. I think we often forget that. I was talking with a friend the other day; they were sharing how they feel lonely and wish they had more people in their life they were close with. This friend then began to talk about how introverted they are and how much they enjoy recharging by themselves and being a hermit. I laughed because I totally relate – In fact I think most of society relates to that mentality! Netflix is the new party and staying in is the new going out. It’s funny how much effort it takes to plan a night out with friends or even a simple coffee date to catch up with someone! We have to check our schedules, see if we’ll be in the mental space to actually want to go out that day next week and plan accordingly. I’m totally one of those people that could say no to every opportunity to go out – My hermit skills are almost resume worthy. However, once I’m out with people; I’m always glad I went out, or had them over! Continue reading
Linda and Mitch had such an elegant day! I was so thankful to have had the opportunity to design the beautiful couple’s wedding flowers for their Spring wedding on May 12, 2018. Linda and Mitch were so relaxed and were simply excited to continue their lives together. I loved getting to know them more while we collaborated on their wedding flowers. Sophisticated Elegance was to be the wedding theme; a romantic blend of white textures with elegant mixed greens and sparkle to hint at a Great Gatsby style. I was so thankful for both Mitch and Linda’s loose style wedding planning! Thank you for trusting me – Thank you for allowing my floral design juices to fly with the wind! I believe you both brought your sophisticated wedding vision to life on your special day!
